About Alexandria Choral Society:
Alexandria Choral Society is an auditioned adult SATB ensemble of 70-85 singers that meets weekly on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in a local church. Pro Coro is a select group of 18-20 singers chosen from the ensemble by the Artistic Director.
For more than 45 years, Alexandria Choral Society has enriched the community with a broad spectrum of choral music, from the Renaissance to modern composers, chamber pieces to major works with orchestra, and from a great variety of musical cultures.
Alexandria Choral Society performs within the City of Alexandria and its environs, and often collaborates with local orchestras and other choral ensembles and musical groups. As a 501(c)(3) organization in the City of Alexandria, Virginia, ACS is highly engaged in educational and service outreach in Alexandria and in the surrounding communities.

Director Responsibilities
● Audition ensemble singers, seeking ideal balance and blend
● Select repertoire for ACS’s four major performances each season, as well as for Pro Coro Alexandria
● Hold weekly rehearsals from September to May to prepare for ACS’s concert season
● Identify instrumentalists and soloists, as needed, and work with ACS’s Executive Director to obtain their services
● Participate in and seek additional opportunities for outreach to local arts and community groups
● Serve as ex-officio board member and actively participate in management of the organization, including attending monthly board meetings and working with the Board of Directors to execute yearly budgets and the ACS strategic plan
Compensation: Competitive with comparable organizations, commensurate with experience.
