Casting Call for [title of show]



Red Branch Theatre Company seeks four dynamic and comedic singing actors (2 male, 2 female) for their upcoming production of [title of show]. With music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen and a book by Hunter Bell, [title of show] chronicles its own creation and entry into the New York Musical Theatre Festival. Red Branch’s production will be directed by Jenny Male, with music direction by Dustin Merrell. [title of show] is the first mainstage production of the 2013 season entitled “Red Branch Write On” – a year of musicals about writing.

Performance Dates
April 5-21, 2013 (due to the nature of theatrical bookings, all dates subject to change)

Audition Dates
Monday, December 10 (7-10 PM) – by appointment only
Wednesday, December 12 (7-10 PM) – callbacks

Audition Requirements
Please prepare 32 bars of contemporary musical theatre. Bring sheet music – an accompanist will be provided. Submit a headshot and resume to info@redbranchtheatre.com for consideration. Auditions will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. All actors will be paid a stipend. Please do not call the box office with questions regarding auditions and casting. Character Breakdown
JEFF -- mid to late 20s, any ethnicity, baritenor. Hunter’s writing partner. Must be comfortable being shirtless on stage for a brief period of time (not in a bra).

HUNTER -- mid to late 20, any ethnicity, baritenor with character voice. Jeff’s writing partner. Must be comfortable being shirtless on stage for a brief period of time (not in a bra).

HEIDI -- mid to late 20s, any ethnicity, soprano with belt. An actress friend of Jeff and Hunter’s recruited to help them write their musical. Must be comfortable being shirtless on stage for a brief period of time (in a bra).

SUSAN -- late 20s to early 30s, any ethnicity, mezzo-belter. An actress friend of Jeff and Hunter’s with a hateful day job recruited to help them write their musical. Must feel comfortable being barefoot on stage. Her shirt stays on the entire time.
