The Duplex Cabaret Theatre is casting singers, male and female, 18+, all ethnicities for an ongoing, high-exposure performance, From Book to Broadway.
Auditions will be held by appointment only; an accompanist will be provided. These exclusive performances seek the best new singers from the New York City area.
Singers receive mp3 files and YouTube clips of their performance. They also rehearse with both a professional director and music director. In addition, performers work with sound and light equipment for the entire rehearsal process.
The Duplex Cabaret Theatre has a 60-year history of discovering new talent and launching the careers of professional performers and composers. Performers selected to participate in “From Book to Broadway” are highlighted in the Duplex Casting Files, a resource used to recommend and introduce new talent to composers, writers, directors and other producers.
Performers do NOT pay an accompanist fee – all production costs, including music director and music rehearsal fees, are paid by the producer. Performers are required to sell nine (10) tickets at $15 each. Seats are set aside for industry professionals and performers are encouraged to invite their own industry guests, who will be given professional comps.
