Second Round of Auditions for Bowie Community Theatre's "A Piece of My Heart"



Multi–ethnic cast needed for Bowie Community Theatre’s production of Shirley Lauro’s A Piece of My Heart, directed by Cody Jones. The production will open on Friday, November 2, 2018 and run for 10 performances over three weekends through Sunday, November 18, 2018, with two performances on Saturday, November 10th. A compelling and provocative drama that tells the story of six very different women who lived, loved and fought in the Vietnam war during the TET invasion, and how life reunites them 20 years later. Sides from the script will be provided, so be prepared to do a cold reading. You may be asked to dance and do some movement if your role calls for it.

We are still in need of casting the following characters:

• Sissy (20s-40s, Female) Army Nurse, sweet, kind, harmonious

• Whitney (20s-40s, Female) Red-Cross Nurse, Caucasian, Aristocrat, Vassar graduate, very slim and poised

• All American Guy (20s-50s) One male to play several small male characters residing anywhere in the universe. The role will be played by a male actor of any ethnicity, having a strong stage presence, and who can play cocky, but gentle, sensitive lover, ladies’ man type

Auditions will be held at Cresthill Church, 6510 Laurel Bowie Rd., Bowie, MD 20715 on Tuesday, August 28th 2018 starting at 7:00 PM. Rehearsals will be held at a local church in Bowie, MD on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a third day added as rehearsals progress.
