Auditions will be held at Silver Spring Stage (10145 Colesville Rd, Silver Spring, MD) Sunday, August 5 at 3pm and Monday, August 6 at 7:30pm. No sign up or audition slots – just come to one of the audition days. Callbacks, if needed, will be held on Wednesday, August 8. All roles are open and unpaid.
Casting 8-10 men (30s-80s), 4-5 women (30s-70s) + 5 teen girls. Auditions will be cold readings from the script. Sides will be provided at auditions. You will be asked to note your conflicts for the rehearsal process and run of the show.
The show will run for 4 weekends from October 26-November 17, 2018. Performances will be Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm along with 2pm Sunday matinees on November 4 and 11. The general rehearsal schedule will be 3-4 times a week on both weeknights and weekend daytimes, depending on cast availability. Not everyone will be required at every rehearsal.

Show Synopsis:
This exciting drama about the Puritan purge of witchcraft in old Salem is both a gripping historical play and a timely parable of our contemporary society. The story focuses upon a farmer, his wife, and a young servant-girl who maliciously causes the wife's arrest for witchcraft. The farmer brings the girl to court to admit the lie—and it is here that the monstrous course of bigotry and deceit is terrifyingly depicted, where confession will spare your life, but denial means the death penalty. The farmer, instead of saving his wife, finds himself also accused of witchcraft and ultimately condemned with a host of others.
