InterAct Story Theatre seeks 1 actor/teaching artist (any gender) for 2016-2017 TYA season!
Rehearsal/training begins in late August/early September for the opening of our educational theatre season in October. The season runs through May 2017, with Associate Artists perform in our featured plays and conduct classroom workshops and residencies in drama for students in grades preK-12 throughout the MD/VA/DC area.
Successful applicants will have a degree in theatre/drama, education, arts education or related field OR commensurate experience in the field of arts education, professional theatre, and/or teaching artistry. Experience in theatre for young audiences/teaching artistry with preK-8 populations is preferred. Experience in working with one or more of the following populations is a big plus: early childhood, middle school, ESOL/ELL, special needs.
This position requires a reliable car as we travel to schools throughout the DC/MD/VA area. The position also includes 15-20% overnight travel, for which InterAct typically provides transportation, lodging and per diem.
