Dear Singer,

The Seminar & Choir for Future Chorus Teachers is a truly unique choral experience for high caliber high school singers like you. Our program’s selective chamber choir provides opportunities for students from all over the greater Washington, DC area to perform an exciting variety of excellent choral literature. Our student conductors gain valuable experience conducting the choir in both rehearsal and performance. I invite you to read on to learn what our program has to offer and to consider joining us next fall.

To give you an idea of who you’ll be singing with, here are a few highlights from this year’s group:
• All five of our seniors qualified to sing in the 2015 VMEA Honors Choir
• Every member of the choir sang in his or her District Honor Choir this year
• Two of our choir members qualified to sing in the 2016 ACDA Southern Division Honor Choir
• Many of our choir members have qualified as delegates or alternates in the 2016 All-VA Chorus

Here’s what people are saying:
• “This is the best choir I’ve ever sung in – and I went to All-VA Chorus last year!” – Nathan T., Seminar Track
• “I initially joined the seminar because I was really wanting an opportunity to learn how to conduct an ensemble. I also initially thought that my eventual college education would be more band-based music education. This experience has made me fall back in love with choral singing and now choral conducting! I'm now planning to continue on in choral-based music education."
– Sam A., Seminar Track
• “Singing in Melodie's choirs in high school helped me find my passion for choral music, and her friendship and encouragement throughout college and as a new music teacher were invaluable. She brings out the best in her students because she is dynamic, inspiring, and committed to your success." – Laura M., Former student

In short, the Seminar & Choir is a group of highly motivated, high achieving singers and aspiring conductors – if this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, check out our website and fill out the online application for the 2016-2017 school year.
