Maryland Lyric Opera Inaugural Vocal Competition 2016

We are delighted to announce Maryland Lyric Opera's Inaugural Vocal Competition! This year, in lieu of an opera production, we will hold a vocal competition which will culminate in a finals gala concert accompanied by the MDLO Orchestra conducted by Glenn Quader!

We believe that the individuality and the expressivity of the singers is the most important aspect of an operatic production. Therefore the goal of our competition is to choose the singers that best exemplify this philosophy. Our artistic staff headed by Henriette Lund will coach finalists for a week in these values leading up to the final round of competition.
