Performance Dates - July 10 - 26. Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees.
General Requirements and Notes: Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera. All principals, supporting characters, and ensemble must sing or have required dance skills. There are no “speaking only” roles available. Also note there will be alternative “gender” casting considered for Annas, Simon the Zealot and selected ensemble roles. The setting and style for this production should be considered “modern times.” Please see MCP’s website (www.McLeanPlayers.org) for character descriptions and vocal ranges. All actors must be at least 14.
Audition Process
You need attend only one audition.
Please prepare 1-2 songs 16/32 bars -- an accompanist will be provided. The music must be in the original key--no transpositions please! A CD/IPOD player is available for your use.
Please be prepared for a choreography audition.
No monologues or cold readings for this audition.
Callbacks - April 18th -- by Invitation Only.
For callbacks additional choreography may be required, and all music for singing callbacks will be provided.
We suggest that you download and complete the Audition Form before auditions, but materials will be available at auditions. Please bring a current resume and your headshot. Also bring your calendar so that you can list any conflicts between auditions and the end of the show. A rehearsal schedule will be available.
