OperaOggiNY - 2014 General Auditions

OperaOggiNY is pleased to announce General Auditions to be held on February 7, 8, 10, 11. There may be additional audition dates as necessary. Seeking ALL VOICE TYPES for our 2014 Season.

Repertoire includes: The Magic Flute (sung in German with English dialogue), concerts of Standard Repertoire, and the World Premieres of Maestro Toscano's new opera cycle "MADE IN AMERICA" Episodes 1,2 and 3.

In order to apply, please pay the $25 audition fee via PayPal button below. Upon completion of payment, singers may send resume and headshot to apply@operaogginy.com. Materials sent without completion of payment will not be considered.

1. Resume in (yournameR).pdf form

2. Headshot in (yournameH).jpg or (yournameH).pdf form

3. An outline of your availability between February and December 2014: gigs, rehearsals, and trips you have already scheduled, regular work commitments, etc.

4. List of the 2-3 arias you will offer at your audition, indicating which one you will sing first. Please see repertoire requirements below.

Please note that applications missing any of the above items or missing $25 payment will not be considered. We will do our best to honor requests for audition time, and any requests for changes of assigned time due to sickness or other reasons will be at the discretion of OperaOggiNY staff. Audition fee is non-refundable.

Repertoire requirements; 2 or 3 pieces (please bring music organized neatly in a binder with necessary markings etc):

1. Aria or song in English, required regardless of your native language

2. Aria in Italian

3. Aria from Die Zauberflote (in German). Those who do not bring an aria from the opera may still be considered for roles.

We will have a pianist at auditions. Singers are welcome to bring their own pianist if they so choose. We look forward to meeting you!

Auditions are held at our rehearsal center at the Flatbush Reformed Church; 890 Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn (Q train to Church Ave-see more detailed directions below). Performances are held at various locations in the Tri-State area, including venues in Manhattan.
