Seeking a diverse cast of 10 highly energetic TRIPLE THREATS with extremely secure vocal technique in Legit and Contemporary styles. PLEASE ONLY SUBMIT IF YOU ARE AVAILABLE FOR THE FULL PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE AND 4-5 WEEKS OF REHEARSAL.
BAT BOY is written for a cast of ten people to play all twenty-two roles. Every featured, ensemble cast member plays multiple roles, including at least one of the opposite gender. Only the actors playing Bat Boy, Shelley Parker, Meredith Parker, and Dr. Thomas Parker, play a single role.

Bat Boy/Edgar (male- 15-22) Vocal Range: B2-A4 (falsetto to E5) (tenor)
Half boy/half bat takes a journey from a primitive/unrefined being to a well-rounded and civilized human.

Shelley Parker (female-15-22) Vocal Range: Ab2 - Ab4 (+ raps) (soprano)
The Parker's rebellious daughter. Shelley transforms from a spoiled brat who taunts Bat Boy into a young woman who falls in love with him and protects him from the town's wrath.

Meredith Parker (female-35-50) Vocal Range: F2 - F4 (mezzo soprano)
Shelley's mother. Meredith, is the epitome of the perfect housewife but she holds a dark secret.

Dr. Thomas Parker (male-35-55) Vocal Range: Ab2 - A4 (tenor)
Thomas is the town veterinarian and grows to secretly despise the boy. Driven mad by this hatred and jealousy, he manipulates the situation using his veterinarian skills to his advantage – even at the price of human life.

The six remaining actors play FEATURED ENSEMBLE ROLES – males and females; various ages, types and voice parts.
