Audition Details: The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own" announces a vacancy for Bass Vocalist with the Army's premier musical organization, located 5 minutes from downtown Washington D.C.

The U.S. Army Chorus, a professional ensemble comprised of tenors and basses, frequently performs at the White House, around the Washington, DC area for official functions, and throughout the United States. The diverse repertoire of the Chorus ranges from Classical to Broadway to Patriotic. The position of Bass Vocalist for this dynamic ensemble requires a musician who possesses extraordinary vocal skills in addition to being able to perform with the Band and Orchestra, and in small ensembles as needed.

Military benefits include medical and dental care; 30-days paid vacation each year; a permanent assignment to Fort Myer; educational benefits such as the Montgomery G.I. Bill.

Applicants must demonstrate strong, versatile abilities in the following areas:

Solo and ensemble performance
Sight reading capabilities
Proficiency in a variety of musical styles including Classical, Pop, Broadway
All applicants must have U.S. citizenship due to a security clearance requirement. Anyone offered a position would be expected to pass the Army's physical examination and meet other standards required to enlist in the Armed Forces. Individuals must enlist and begin Basic Combat Training prior to their 35th birthday.

Auditions will be held by invitation only (date: TBD) at The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own," 400 McNair Road, Ft. Myer, Virginia 22211-1306. Invited candidates have the option to pay their own travel expenses, or may contact a local Army recruiter. Candidates would then have all expenses paid by the U.S. Army.
