The United States Army Field Band announces a vacancy for Alto/Mezzo Soprano Vocalist to perform with The Soldiers' Chorus, an element of one of the Army's premier musical organizations, located at Ft. Meade, Maryland.
The Soldiers' Chorus is the mixed choral ensemble of The United States Army Field Band that travels with The Army Field Band's Concert Band performing nationally and internationally as directed by the Department of the Army. Formal public concerts, school assemblies, clinics, music festivals, and radio and television appearances are all part of the annual schedule of the chorus. Auditions will be held by invitation only in September 2012 at The U.S. Army Field Band, 4214 Field Band Drive, Fort Meade, MD 20755-5330.
Submit a recent resume and high-quality recording, CD preferred, by August 1, 2012.
The recording should include the following:
1. Two classical selections (aria or art song);
2. Two selections demonstrating different vocal styles (pop, jazz, musical theater, or country);
3. Vocalizations on scales or arpeggios from G3 to G5
