Director's Notes:
REHEARSALS START AFTER JULY 4th , with only one meeting prior to get costume measurements... So, don't let our early auditions overly concern you. We want to get costuming done early for character development and promotional purposes.
ENSEMBLE ROLES (Stage age ranges 25 to 70) Various vocal ranges for ensemble songs.Although these roles are not Leads or even Principal roles, they are all highly significant to the reality of the event to which 1776 is about. They are Supporting, and in their own moment 'Featured' roles, important to the story we are telling. Members of the Congress represented the diversity of individual states they represented, their own virtues, experiences and personalities... all needed to enact this bold declaration while accepting the likely death sentence to which their signatures attested. The collective music and character roles of this true to life musical drama hinges on all the players present... without all there would be no nation... without all there would be no 1776.

Adventure Theatre MTC has a need for a videographer to film an hour-long final performance/recital

Adventure Theatre MTC has a need for a videographer to film an hour-long final performance/recital of its Pre-Professional program company. This final culmination of the student’s work is called Spotlight.

Here are the details:

Dress rehearsal: May 25, 2017 at 6:30pm

Final Performance: May 26, 2017 at 7pm

Pre-Professional Program (Approximately 50 children)

Duration: 1 Hour of videotaping plus editing

F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre, Rockville, MD

We are hoping to have someone record the production and edit it for the theatre’s archives as well as a take-home for the parents, so the finished product should be about 45 minutes long. There is a sound board so the videographer will have a direct plugin to the sound system. I have a budget of $600 to pay for it, although the price is slightly negotiable if the right person can be found. I’m hoping to find someone who can either attend the Dress Rehearsal or the final production on the 26th. The final performance is preferred.

There is availability this upcoming year for additional film/editing/story work with a higher budget, so I’d love to find someone who is interested in telling the organization’s story and can partner with us long-term. Those opportunities include:

Two opportunities for shooting and editing our mainstage productions into a 1:00 trailer

A student production in January as well as one in July

Spotlight 2018

Potential “year in recap” video for our 2018 Gala

Please send a demo reel and a quote to abradley@adventuretheatre-mtc.org Additional questions can be sent to this address, or you can call my direct dial at 301-634-2267.

United States Navy Band - Washington, DC

There are a total of 11 official U.S. Navy bands to include nine active-duty fleet bands and two preferentially staffed bands, all featuring professional musicians from around our nation. Each band operates within its own geographic area of responsibility while representing our Navy through performances around the world.

Navy fleet bands only hire about 35 musicians annually in order to maintain healthy manning levels. The musical quality is very high, and the majority of successful applicants have a college degree in music. Although this is not a requirement, it highlights the musical level required for acceptance.

There is no pre-determined audition timeline so each audition is scheduled based on the applicant’s schedule and the availability of a Navy band. Applicants have the opportunity to audition at any one of our 11 Navy bands.

Note: Auditions for our two preferentially-staffed bands are held only as vacancies occur.

Applicants will need to contact their local Navy recruiter for an initial screening interview to ensure basic eligibility requirements are met (age, weight, medical, legal). Applicants are NOT required to complete the full physical before their audition.

Following recruit training (also known as boot camp), applicants approved for enlistment in the fleet bands as a musician attend the Naval School of Music, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The 21-week basic course of instruction includes classes in theory, ear training, private instrumental instruction and ensemble rehearsals. Students have the opportunity to test out of the course and graduate early. After graduation, Navy musicians are assigned to one of nine Navy fleet bands.

**For more information, email the Fleet Band Activities audition coordinator at MILL_NavyMusic@navy.mil or call 901-874-4316.

Are you ready to get started?

Find a Navy recruiter at http://www.navy.com to conduct an initial screening interview.

Call the Navy musician audition coordinator at 1-866-827-5672 or at 901-874-4316.

Application Deadline: June 28, 2017
Audition Date: September 18, 2017

The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” the U.S. Army’s premier musical organization, announces a vacancy for LOW BASS VOCALIST with The U.S. Army Chorus.

In 1956, The U.S. Army Chorus was established as the vocal counterpart of The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” and is one of the nation’s only professional men’s choruses. From its inception, The U.S. Army Chorus has established and maintained a reputation of excellence in the performance of male choral literature. Beyond the traditional military music and patriotic standards, the repertoire of the Army Chorus covers a broad spectrum which includes pop, Broadway, folk, and classical music.

The Army Chorus performs frequently at the White House, the Vice President’s Residence, the U.S. Capitol and the State Department. World leaders, such as former Presidents Nicolas Sarkozy of France, Lech Walesa of Poland, and Mikhail Gorbachev of the Soviet Union have been serenaded by the Army Chorus during state visits. In 2007, the group was featured at the State Dinner held in honor of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and in 2008 at the State Arrival Ceremony for Pope Benedict XVI held on the south lawn of the White House.

Military benefits include medical and dental care; 30-days paid vacation each year; permanent assignment to Fort Myer, and educational benefits such as military Tuition Assistance and the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill.

All applicants must have U.S. citizenship due to a security clearance requirement. All invited applicants will be given instructions to coordinate pre-screening with their regional Military Entrance Processing Station to ensure they meet entrance requirements for enlistment in The U.S. Army prior to attending the live audition.
