AUDITION NOTICE: THE GLASS MENAGERIE at VAGABOND PLAYERS

*****ALL ROLES ARE OPEN*****



Auditioners are asked to:

Prepare a short 1-2 minute monologue*
Bring a theater resume and headshot (if possible)*
A full schedule of conflict

*Sides and audition forms will be provided if needed.

Audition Dates

Saturday April 15 @ 12 pm
Sunday April 16 @ 6 pm
Monday April 17 at 7 pm

There may be callbacks on Tuesday April 18th if needed

All Auditions will take place at Vagabond Players, 806 S. Broadway in Fells Point

Show Date: September 8th – October 1st (Friday-Saturday at 8PM, Sundays at 2PM), Thursday, Sept. 28 at 8PM)

Rehearsal Dates: *July 10th - September 7th (Monday -Thursday at 7pm and some Saturday days)

*These dates are flexible

Character Breakdown

Amanda Wingfield (50-65) A faded Southern belle, abandoned by her husband, who is trying to raise her two children under harsh financial conditions.

Tom Wingfield (18-40)

Amanda's son, and younger brother to sister, Laura.

Tom is frustrated by his job and aspires to be a poet.

Tom feels both obligated toward yet burdened by his family and longs to escape.

Laura Wingfield (18-30)

Amanda's daughter and Tom's older sister. A childhood illness has left her with a limp, and she has a mental fragility and an inferiority complex that have isolated her from the outside world.

Jim O’Connor (25-35)

An old high-school acquaintance of Tom and Laura. Jim was a popular athlete and actor during his days at Soldan High School.
