BABY JUNE
Baby June must look and feel approximately 9 or 10 years-old. She is a Shirley Temple-like, up-and-coming vaudeville star, and Madam Rose's youngest daughter. Her onstage demeanor is confident, sugary-sweet, cute, precocious, and adorable to the nth degree. An adorable character - Mama Rose's shining star. Strong child singer, strong dancer. Mezzo.
YOUNG BOY
African-American. Approximately 9 to 12 years-old. One of Baby June's backup dancer/singers. *Must dance well.* A special skill would also be helpful but isn't required: play an instrument, basic juggling, magic, basic acrobatics, etc.
REHEARSAL & PRODUCTION INFORMATION
. The first rehearsal for Gypsy is April 24. We rehearse Tuesdays through Sundays with rehearsal times not yet set as we want to cast the children first. However, this is a professional production and will require the young performers to miss some school.
. Arden Theatre runs an 8-show week with performances beginning May 18, and the production scheduled to run through June 18 with a possible extension to June 25.
