MCLEAN COMMUNITY PLAYERS WILL HOLD AUDITIONS FOR A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

Directed by Rosemary Hartman

FEBRUARY 6, 7, 2017 7:30 p.m.

At the McLean Community Center - 1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean, VA

Male and female roles available - ages Teens through 60's

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

Please read the script and review the cast of characters, and decide which character or characters you feel you are suited to play. The script is available free on line or at your local library if you do not have a copy.

Please prepare a two-minute comedic monologue, preferably, but not necessarily, from a Shakespearean comedy. If you do not have a prepared monologue you'll be given a side from the script to read. A British accent will not be required. Focus your energy on the text and don't worry about the accent. If cast, you'll be working with a dialogue coach.

Fairies/dancers will be asked to follow some basic dance instructions from the choreographer. If you plan to dance, please wear or bring appropriate shoes.

You need to attend just one audition date; you will be notified if you are being called back.

CALLBACKS: By invitation on Saturday, February 11 at 1:30 p.m. Will include readings from the script.

IMPORTANT: Please bring your calendar with you to the audition, as you will be asked to inform us of any and all conflicts you may have between the start of rehearsals through the end of the run. It is extremely important that you be absolutely honest about your conflicts as it is very difficult to schedule rehearsals for a large cast unless all conflicts are known in advance. A conflict will not necessarily preclude you from being cast, as the director will work around actors' conflicts to the best of her ability. We are looking for the very best people and can be flexible to a certain extent on this.

REHEARSALS will be held 3-4 nights per week and Saturday or Sunday, depending on actors' availabilities.

We suggest that you download the Audition Form and complete it before arriving at the audition, but forms will be available there too.

Just show up. No appointment needed.
Please attend ONE audition session only
Callbacks by invitation.
Rehearsals start immediately
Please bring a current resume and headshot with you, if you have one, to be used by MCP on your audition form. If you do not have a headshot, we will take a picture.

We send out audition notices by email a couple of weeks before the auditions. If you are not already on our list, to be notified by email of future auditions and shows sign up for Audition Notices.

McLean Community Players is an all-volunteer organization. There is no pay for performers.

MCP is an excellent group to audition for. All parts for every show are open. None are ever pre-cast. You need not be a member of MCP and do not need to apply or pay to audition.
