Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in "Shrek The Musical JR.," based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It's a "big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, "Shrek JR." is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

THE DETAILS: Auditions open to performers grades 5-12. No appointment required. Attend only one of the auditions. (Call backs possible January 31). Please arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork (including listing conflicts) and plan to stay for the entire time. Latecomers admitted at the discretion of the director. Audition consists of:
One song you have prepared ahead of time (16-32 bars, or no more than one minute).
Please DO NOT use a song from the show. Bring sheet music for the accompanist
(provided), marked for the portion of the song you will sing. (You may also sing a cappella if you do not have sheet music. Pre-recorded accompaniments are strongly discouraged).
Reading from the script or other scenes that the director will hand out during the audition.
Learning some dance and movement combinations which will be taught during the audition. Dress in something that allows you to move easily. If you tap, bring tap shoes.
