Audition for National Players Tour 70, consisting of the rep of The Crucible, Twelfth Night, and Around the World in 80 Days.

NYC Auditions will be held on January 4th and 5th, from 10-6 both days, at Shetler Studios. To request an audition slot, actors should email a headshot and resume to casting@nationalplayers.org Preparation information will be given with time slot.

National Players is a ten-actor touring ensemble presenting classic stories in fresh ways for contemporary audiences.

The company performs a repertory of shows and educates audiences around America, utilizing theatre and education to build communities.

The contract for Tour 70 (The Crucible, Twelfth Night, and Around the World in 80 Days) runs 11 months, from June 2018 to May 2019. All Players must be available for entire contract period.

In classic American touring fashion, company members perform in all plays and operate all onstage, backstage, and offstage elements.

The desire to hone one's craft on and off-stage is an essential component for all Players. Decades of alumni have gone on to successful careers in Hollywood, on Broadway, and throughout America's regional theatre markets, and we're looking forward to working with our next ensemble.

Benefits to being a National Player:

o $250 weekly stipend paid via direct deposit

o On-site accommodations at Olney Theatre Center during rehearsal and local touring

Responsibilities of being a National Player:

o Work with a troupe of nine other actors on a three-show repertory

o Handle one or more areas of technical/administrative/off-stage responsibilities for the tour

o Education and community outreach to students of all ages

o Loading-in and striking shows at many different venues

o Assist in driving and arranging accommodations while on tour

o Represent Olney Theatre Center to a national audience


Other things to know:

o Three to four weeks unpaid holiday break in December/January

o September-December: A concentrated presence in the Mid-Atlantic region with heightened outreach in Maryland.
