Auditions for Harvey--Saturday, Jan 6 10am and Sunday, Jan 7 2pm

The McLean Community Players announce auditions for Mary Chase’s “Harvey,” which opens March 9, 2018.

*When:* Saturday, Jan 6 10am and Sunday, Jan 7 2pm.
*Where:* St. Thomas Episcopal Church
8991 Brook Rd, McLean, VA 22101

The show focuses on an eccentric middle-aged bachelor, Elwood P. Dowd, who has a friend with whom he converses – a 6’3” *invisible* rabbit who enjoys an evening of martinis with Elwood, can stop a clock so no time passes, can pick locks, and can bring inner peace to the psychiatrist treating Elwood
at the insistence of Elwood’s sister, Veta.

Please see the Auditions page
on MCP’s website (http://www.mcleancommunityplayers.org/MCP/Show.cfm?ShowID=Auditions) for character descriptions and more details. “Harvey” will be performed on weekends, March 9-24, 2018, at the Great Falls Grange, 9818 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls.

“Harvey” is presented by special arrangement with
Dramatists Play Service, Inc. Directed by Eleanore Tapscott and produced by Jennifer Levy and Mike Scott.

*AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:*

*Actors should prepare a 1-minute contemporary comic monologue.* You need to attend just one audition date; you will be notified if you are being called back.

Callbacks, which are invitation only, will consist of readings from the script. We suggest that you download the *Audition Form* at http://www.mcleancommunityplayers.org/MCP/auditionForm.cfm?showID=267 and complete it before arriving at the audition. Forms will be available there too.

*IMPORTANT: Please bring a current resume and headshot with you, if you have one, to be used by MCP on your audition form.*

If you do not have a headshot, we will take a picture.

Please bring your calendar with you to the audition, as you will be asked to inform us of any and all conflicts you may have between the start of rehearsals through the end of the run.

A conflict will not necessarily preclude you from being cast, as the director will work around actors' conflicts to the best of her ability.

We are looking for the very best people and can be flexible to a certain extent on this.

*REHEARSALS* start immediately and will be held 3-4 nights per week and Saturday or Sunday, depending on actors' availability.

McLean Community Players is an all-volunteer organization. There is no pay for performers.
