AUDITION LOCATION is The Eastman Studio Theatre in the Elstad building at Galluadet University, 800 Florida Ave NE. Faction of Fools is able to offer Special Appearance contracts to Equity performers for The Cherry Orchard. We are seeking only non-equity performers for Foolish Fairytales and the touring productions at this time.
For the AUDITION, please prepare a 60-90 second monologue or excerpt highlighting strong character choices and physical comedy. You may perform a monologue or may elect to play more than one character in a passage of dialogue. Masks will be provided, and you are encouraged to perform in mask. Use your imagination. Be physical. Be honest and true to the text. Look for elements of comedy, but also highlight tragedy or pathos where you find it. Most importantly: have fun!
The single piece will serve as an audition for all productions. You may indicate at the audition your interest/availability for each individual project.
Be prepared to fill out a detailed conflict sheet regarding availability for the show and/or touring productions.
Callbacks will be held in two parts. The first, will be a group Commedia training, to be held from 1-5pm on Sunday, August 13. This will be followed on Monday, August 14 - by a time slot to come in and read some sides. Slots will be offered between 6:30 and 10:30pm.

Touring Productions
Faction of Fools is also seeking performers to be added to its roster of touring artists for its critically-acclaimed productions of a Commedia Romeo & Juliet and Pinocchio. The two plays tour locally to schools, universities, and other venues throughout the year. Most engagements are a half-day commitment (usually weekdays), with occasional double-headers or overnight engagements. Actors will be asked to learn one to two tracks, and to attend put-in rehearsals on the evenings of January 4 – 8.
