AMAZING GRACE - 1 African American & 1 Caucasian Character Actor/Singer


AMAZING GRACE is currently accepting video auditions from strong non-union African-American male character actor/singer (late 20s-60s) for the role of THOMAS (PAKUTEH). Resourceful and protective, Thomas, the narrator and conscience of the story, possesses a quiet inner strength and patience, which helps him deal with John Newton’s unpredictable and volatile behavior, as well as his own enslavement. Actors must be available for a daytime rehearsal schedule. The production will be recreated by the original Broadway team as part of the gala launch of the new Museum of the Bible. Subsequent national tour in the offing but not required. This principal role is paid (rehearsal scale $450/week; performance weeks negotiable) plus potential RT transportation to DC, single room housing, and weekly per diem. Candidates must have local housing in the DC metropolitan area and be available for a daytime rehearsal schedule. The production will be recreated by the original Broadway team as part of the gala launch of the new Museum of the Bible. Rehearsals begin October 16, performances begin November 14, and the production runs an eight show weekly schedule through January 7. Subsequent national tour in the offing but not required. All roles are paid; scale begins @ $450/week.
