2016 Bethesda Summer Music Festival

The 2016 Bethesda Summer Music Festival offers word-class musical coaching. The instruction focuses on diction, interpretation, improvisation, movement, dance, and master classes. Participants may also take part in "Les Misérables" and "The Phantom of the Opera" musical theatre scenes, opera scenes, an Opera to Pop concert, and an Art Songs Recital. The program ends with two main productions of "Carousel" and "Le nozze di Figaro." All roles will be double cast.

Quick Facts

When: Program dates: June 20 through July 3, 2016
Live audition date: Saturday, March 12, 2016.
You may send in mp3/CD by Monday, February 29th, 2016.
To secure the major roles, we encourage the early applications.

Costs: Application fee: $50 ( non-refundable and will be deducted from the tuition)
Program cost (tuition): Non-Refundable after May 1st, 2015.
Lead roles: $1,000
Supporting: $800

Housing: Information/help available upon request.

Aid: Limited scholarship and financial aid is available.

Sample Day’s Schedule
2:45 pm – Check In.
3:00 pm – Guest-Artist Event/Master Class.
5:00 pm – Short Break/Dinner.
5:15 pm – Music Coaching for Opera/Staging Rehearsal for Musical.
7:50 pm – Short meeting with Faculty/Break.
8:00 pm – Music Coaching for Musical/Staging Rehearsal for Opera.
10:00 pm – Participants released.
