Chorus Auditions for "Faust"


Online applications for Gounod’s "Faust" will be accepted 8/1/15 through 9/16/15 (midnight, EST).

After applications are reviewed, selected applicants will be invited to audition by appointment on September 26, 2015 from 10am to 4pm only at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts located at 801 Chase Street, Annapolis, MD.

Performance dates: Friday, March 18 and Sunday, March 20, 2016.

Applicants must commit to the following rehearsal schedule:

October 24, 2015 10am -1pm and October 25, 2015 2pm-5pm
Saturdays, February 6, 13, 20 from 10-1 and 2-5pm
Sundays, February 7, 14, 21 from 2-5pm
Saturdays, February 27 & March 5 from 10-1 and 2-5pm
Sundays, February 28 & March 6 from 2-5pm
Saturday, March 12, 12-5pm
Sunday, March 13, 2-5pm
March 14-16 from 6:30-10:30pm

REQUIREMENTS & PROCESS

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of the audition.

Complete the online application form, which includes uploading the following:

Resume in document or PDF format only. Include performance experience, education, teachers, coaches, conductors, and honors. (maximum size 3MB).
Recent photograph or ‘headshot’ in JPG file format with 300 dpi resolution or better (maximum size 3MB).
Select 2 works, any opera aria, operetta piece, or song of contrasting styles and tempo with one of the works sung in French.

Applicants will be notified by email about their audition status no later than 9/18/15. Those selected for an audition will be notified by email of their appointment time no later than 9/21/15.

Only completed applications will be accepted. After successfully completing the application you will receive an email at the address you provided confirming it was successfully received. This does not guarantee an audition appointment. If the confirmation email is not received, please notify AOAuditions@comcast.net immediately.

AUDITION PROCESS

At the audition, check in with the AO staff, they will record your arrival and answer any questions you may have.
Make sure to arrive early in order to have enough time to check in and warm up.
Applicants can bring an updated headshot or resume if you choose to.
An accompanist is provided for the audition. Please bring all music in the correct key. Pre-recorded accompaniment (tape, CD, etc.) is not permitted.
Auditions are limited to no more than 10 minutes.
