Fairfax City Theatre's "Doubt"

AUDITIONS FOR DOUBT

Where do you draw the line between suspicion and belief? Between certainty and doubt? When does due diligence turn into a witch hunt? 1964 in the Bronx. Sister Aloysius suspects that Father Flynn has behaved inappropriately with the school’s first integrated student. Is this a struggle for power or a battle for truth? Is doubt a weakness or a virtue? Only you can determine the answer.

January 12-13 from 6pm-9pm

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Please prepare a resume and a contemporary dramatic monologue. Be prepared to read from the show.

CHARACTERS
Father Brendan Flynn, late thirties/early forties, raconteur and bon vivant
Sister Aloysius Beauvier, late fifties/early sixties, authoritarian and insecure
Sister James, twenties, young novitiate, still optimistic and unjaded
Mrs. Muller, late thirties, African-American, unsure about her place in a changing world

All four roles for this hit play -- winner of the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize -- are available. African-American women are especially encouraged to audition.

CFTC is also looking for a stage manager for this production.
