Maryland Lyric Opera performs at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, College Park, MD. There will be one cast, with covers and chorus, comprised of fully professional performers who are either currently performing principal roles or are ready to perform principal roles, to be coached by General Artistic Director Henriette Lund. The production staff include Conductor Joel Borrelli-Boudreau, Stage Director Jay D. Brock and Chorus Master Maureen “Reenie” Codelka. General Artistic Director Henriette Lund will be the final word on all artistic and musical decisions. Rehearsal accompanists will be Brad Clark and Nicolas Catravas.
Role consideration, cast and cover and chorus, is based upon the experience and talent of the auditionee as judged by Founder Brad Clark and General Artistic Director Henriette Lund. The auditionee must be willing to be coached during the audition.
Modified concert format, as defined by MDLO, is a performance with all performers off-book, chorus in dress black, principals in formal wear, with interactions between the performers. There will be no sets and very few props, if any, and there will be entrances and exits.
