Extras for AMC's "Turn"
TURN returns! The filming of the second season of TURN: Washington’s Spies is here. TURN is filming in the Central Virginia/Richmond area, and Arvold Casting is seeking paid Extras who look authentically from the Revolutionary War era and are local to the Central Virginia/Richmond area.
Filming for the second season continues through February, with a hiatus from December 20th to January 4th. Casting will be ongoing for this project until the final shoot date in February, so keep that hair growing!
We are searching for local extras who have the flexibility to do as many days as needed during the shoot dates. We will also consider those with more limited availability, as some roles are only needed for one day. We are looking for men, women, and children who are Caucasian, African American, and Native American from thin to average build.
The Revolutionary War happened over 230 years ago, and we need background characters who look like they are from that time period. Therefore no visible tattoos and no braces. Hair should look natural, NOT processed or colored. Eyebrows should be natural, NOT modern and plucked. Teeth should look natural and real, NOT noticeably capped or modern. Long hair in both sexes is highly desirable. Ability to see/function without physically wearing eyeglasses is needed. (Contacts are okay).
Beards were not popular during the Revolutionary War, and so most of our male roles require men to be clean shaven. Hair long enough to be pulled back into a ponytail is very highly desirable for men, women and children, even if there is no actual ponytail.
SEEKING EXTRAS FOR CURRENT EPISODE:
Men - 20s to 40s, intimidating and dangerous to play military men for hire.
Singers – Caucasian male, 20s to 60s. 34 waist or less.

Accurate and complete size information is very important for wardrobe reasons, especially for period wardrobe. We encourage you to measure yourself or go to a tailor or clothing store and find out your accurate sizes before submitting the form.
Once you have submitted, please keep us updated with any change of appearance, change in availability, or any new size information by emailing us at casting@arvold.com.
STEP TWO: YOUR PHOTOS:
We would love to meet you, so make an appointment here and we’ll take the pictures for you: https://www.schedulicity.com/Scheduling/?business=ACT2NH
Alternatively, please send your name and phone number to casting@arvold.com along with three photographs taken just for us following the below instructions. Cellphone or iPad pics work just fine.
Two close-ups of head and upper shoulders only, with one close-up picture with you smiling and showing teeth, the other close-up picture with a serious or neutral expression. And the third photo of full body facing forward with form fitting clothing please, not baggy or loose.
Make sure that the lighting is good, and that the background is a plain, solid color. Please wear little or no make-up. If you have long hair, please pull it forward over shoulders to show length.
We need to know what you look like right now, so these pictures need to follow our directions and be of reasonably good quality, but NOT professionally taken. Again, cellphone photos are just fine.
You may also include any headshot and acting resume with your email.
The subject heading for your email should be: YOUR NAME, Extra Example: John Smith, Extra
Recommended but not required: To increase your chances of being used on our projects, open a talent application OR update your Agency Pro for Casting Directors account www.arvoldcasting.com/actors. As you may already know, you do NOT have to pay to open an account. It will take a little bit of time to submit a new talent application, but please make certain your account with us is complete and accurate as possible. Fill in ALL the information you can, including wardrobe sizes and acting experience.
Thanks so much for following these instructions. We are only able to respond to those submissions selected, but we sincerely appreciate your interest! And again, if you have submitted to be an extra on Point of Honor then you do NOT need to resubmit your form unless your information has changed.
For anyone who has any difficulty following the submission instructions above, please email us at casting@arvold.com and let us know what assistance you require.
