You’re Gonna Love Tomorrow, Triumph of Love, and A Year With Frog and Toad – Casting Notice

Audition Dates

Callbacks: Saturday, June 28: 10 AM – 2 PM

Audition Requirements
Please prepare 16-32 bars of contemporary musical theatre and a 60-second monologue. Bring sheet music – an accompanist will be provided. Submit headshot and resume to info@redbranchtheatre.com for consideration. Audition appointments will be scheduled on a first come – first served basis.

This one act revue brings lesser-known songs from the Stephen Sondheim catalog back into the spotlight alongside some of the composer’s most beloved works. Songs are featured from musicals such asSaturday Night, Pacific Overtures, Company, Anyone Can Whistle, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, and Merrily We Roll Along.

Red Branch Theatre Company seeks a diverse array of singing actors with “legit” vocal chops to serve as guest artists alongside Company Ambassadors.

An anachronistic adaptation of the classic Marivaux comedy of the same name, Triumph of Love takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the lengths to which love can drive a person. The show has hometown roots asTriumph of Love made its debut at Baltimore’s Center Stage before its Broadway run.

Character Breakdown
AGIS – M, 20-25 YRS OLD – A student of reason. Beautiful. Destined to be the returner of Sparta to his family’s reign. Puts thoughts before emotion until he falls head over heels for the disguised Princess Leonide. Range: E3 – A5

CORINE – F, 30-40 YRS OLD – Princess Leonide’s maid servant. Sexual and brassy. She is a good servant, but also very much looks out for herself and has her own agenda. The only character who truly can’t be bothered with love. Range: G3 – G5
DIMAS – M, 30 – 40 YRS OLD – The gardener. Grumpy and lewd, but an obedient and honorable worker to Hermocrates and Hesione. Lusts after Corine. Range: F3 - A5

HARLEQUIN – M, 30 – 40 YRS OLD – The valet. Quick, clowning, and smart. Fancies himself a Casanova. Scheming, but with mostly good intentions. He falls in love and lusts after Corine. Range: F3 – A5

HERMOCRATES – M, 50-65 YRS OLD – A philosopher. Hesione’s brother. A powerful, forbidding intellectual tyrant. Thinks emotions are a waste of time until he falls in love with the disguised Princess Leonide. Range: G3 – F5

HESIONE – F, 40 – 55 YRS OLD – Agis’ aunt. A stern philosopher who, until she is wooed by a disguised Princess Leonide, has little time for emotions or flattery after having her heart broken as a young girl.Range: E3 – F5

PRINCESS LEONIDE – F, 18 – 24 YRS OLD – Beautiful, young, and strong. She is clever, quick, and hopelessly in love with Agis. Disguises herself as several different people in order to have the opportunity to win his love. Range: F3 – G5

FROG – M, 30 – 50 YRS OLD – Caring and loyal. Always looking out for his friends. The calmer, more zen of both he and Toad. Simultaneously adventurous and assured. Range: A3 – A6

MAN – M, 20 – 60 YRS OLD – Must possess the blind determination of a nerdy snail and the “cool kid” attitude of a slick lizard. Appears as MAN BIRD, SNAIL, LIZARD, FATHER FROG, and MOLE. Range: A3 – B5

TOAD – M, 30 – 50 YRS OLD – A hard worker, but impatient for results. Self-conscious. Stubborn. A good friend to Frog. Timid. Range: A3 – A5

WOMAN 1 – F, 20 – 50 YRS OLD – Must possess the playful and quirky personality of a lady bird and strong frenetic energy of a squirrel. Appears as LADY BIRD 1, MOUSE, SQUIRREL, YOUNG FROG, and MOLE. Range: A3 – A5

WOMAN 2 – F, 20 – 50 YRS OLD – Must possess the playful and quirky personality of a lady bird and strong frenetic energy of a squirrel. Appears as LADY BIRD 2, TURTLE, SQUIRREL, MOTHER FROG, and MOLE. Range: A3 – A5
