Part-time Accompanist for CCW’s Treble Chorus


Children’s Chorus of Washington (CCW) seeks a part-time piano accompanist for the upcoming season. The accompanist will accompany the Treble Chorus throughout the season. Treble Chorus currently meets once a week, Monday evenings, from 4:30pm to 6:10pm. This position reports to the Artistic Director.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide piano accompaniment for audition, rehearsals, and performances of Treble Chorus for full season, which is normally August through June each year.
Collaborate with the Treble Conductor and Artist Director to prepare music materials and
Meet/communicate with the Chorus’ staff prior to and during Chorus’ season as needed to discuss rehearsal/performance requirements (i.e. music materials, supplies, instruments, room setups) and other relevant topics.
Follow the rehearsal and performance schedules provided by the Chorus (start time, finish time) and avoid any delay or overtime without prior approval by Chorus.
Give the Chorus’ staff a 24-hour notice if an unavoidable circumstance prevents the Employee from reporting to work.
Maintain professional behavior, courtesy, and language around all participants, colleagues, and general public at all times.
Provide appropriate identifications to Chorus for inspection and copying and fill out Form I-9 prior to the service.

The ideal candidate should have:

Bachelor’s degree (minimum) / Master’s degree or higher / or comparable educational or professional experience
Excellent sight reading and music transposition skills
Experience in working with young singers
An availability to participate in required chorus activities
