Riverbend Opera Company is scheduling auditions for our upcoming production of Andrea Chenier by Umberto Giordano to be performed in June, 2014, in several venues in the Washington area.
To audition, prepare a 19th- or 20th-century aria or art song in Italian. A pianist will be provided, but you may bring your own.
We encourage and welcome auditions for the company ensemble by singers of all voice types. Singers in the ensemble will be considered for the many character roles, most of which will be double cast. For this 2014 production, rehearsals will be on Wednesday and Friday evenings beginning April 16. Four to six performances will be scheduled for June. Most of our principal and supporting roles are cast from singers who have performed in our ensemble in one or two productions. We welcome trained singers of all ages and levels of experience, and you will find no more supportive and fun company of artists anywhere in our area.
Unfortunately, no housing support is available for non-local artists. Rehearsals will be in Annandale and McLean, VA, and our performances are in Northern Virginia and Washington DC.
We perform semi-staged concert, without scores.
