Bel Cantati Opera Auditions



This year Bel Cantanti Opera is looking forward to auditioning singers for its annual summer opera program that will result in two shows: Massenet's Cendrillon and Richard Rodgers'/Oscar Hammerstein's The Sound of Music

The auditions for both productions will be held at the Church in Bethesda (5033 Wilson Lane, Bethesda, MD) on Saturdays, February 1 and February 8 (3 - 8 pm). Both shows will include children. To apply to auditions the applicants need to send via email the following materials:

1. Application (download)
2. Application Fee (Paypal)
3. Headshot (email and bring a hard copy for auditions)
4. Current Resume (email and bring a hard copy for auditions)
5. Recent mp3 recording. Youtube or DVD if available
6. Short bio
7. Costume measurements (download)

Dates of the festival: Cendrillon, June 7 - June 29; The Sound of Music, June 19- July 13.

Tuition: $1000, $750 for small roles (Tuition is Non-Refundable after April 1.

Housing: Limited housing for out of town singers might be available.

Payments: Pay an audition fee online with your credit card through PayPal (PayPal). You do not have to have a PayPal account and can use any major credit card. Audition Fee is $36.50 ( $35 plus $1.50 PayPal fee). Tuition is paid by check sent to Bel Cantanti Opera, 13007 Prairie View Pl. Germantown, MD, 20874. Check has to be postmarked not later than March 20th, 2013.
