We prefer to work with NYC-area artists. We welcome applicants of all ages, but would like to note that we are largely a company of young artists and administrators.

Materials Required: We ask that all applicants submit two recordings: one Italian aria and another in any language or style. We also ask for a digital headshot and resume (this means there is no need to bring them on the day of).
Audition Location and Date:
New York, NY USA: Wed 18th Dec 2013 from 2 to 6 pm.
Audition Requirements: Please prepare one Italian aria, Puccini preferred, and another aria of your own choosing.
Pianist Provided: Yes. May bring own. We will provide an accompanist with a fee of $15, or you can bring your own (please give us a heads up if you are).

We are auditioning primarily for our upcoming production of Puccini's La Boheme while keeping future productions in mind. We are currently casting principals and covers for all roles, but this is subject to change soon, so keep an eye out!
The current dates for La Boheme are February 21st, 22nd, 28th, and March 1st, 2014; with a cover performance on February 26th, 2014.
Program Information: LoftOpera enhances New York's music scene by infusing opera into Brooklyn's underground through performances in loft spaces. We're a group of young performers and administrators who are passionate about bringing opera to a new setting and a new audience with immersive stagings, large orchestras, and talented voices.
Our most recent show, Le Nozze di Figaro, drew over 600 audience members to three packed nights. Our audience is mostly in their 20s and 30s, we hire an orchestra of over 20 pieces, and the drinks are aplenty. A LoftOpera show is definitely a good night had by all.
Compensation: Payment is provided. While we are working on a limited budget, we consider it extremely important to respect our artist with payment. We cannot cover extensive travel or housing costs.
