Materials Required:
Please email your materials (resume, picture and a recording or a link to one) to us at Bronx.Opera@optimum.net. In your email, please give us three one-hour ranges in which you would like to sing (eg 8:00 to 9:00 on the 14th, etc). Also, please include your phone number in the body of the E-mail. BxO’s Artistic Director, Michael Spierman, will call all of those chosen to audition to finalize an appointment time and repertoire. Ideally, we will want to hear something from TRAVIATA, in English, but Mr. Spierman will discuss the specifics when he calls you.

Auditions will be held the evenings of MONDAY and TUESDAY, JANUARY 13TH AND 14TH 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM, both at Hunter College, Room 404 North.
An accompanist will be provided at no fee. All roles are open, and BxO policy is to double cast (and have covers) when appropriate.
Program Information:
The Bronx Opera Company (BxO) announces auditions, by appointment, for our May 2014 production of Verdi’s LA TRAVIATA. This production will be sung in English, fully staged, with orchestra and chorus. No fees are charged, and a modest honorarium to cover expenses will be provided. The production will be directed by Rod Gomez.
For your information, the broad-strokes production schedule is as follows: Music rehearsals will begin in early February, sprinkled through the end of March. Staging will then commence, and will work into May. Sitzprobes, full run-throughs and tech will continue, culminating in performances will be on May 9th and 10th at the Lovinger Theatre at Lehman College in the northwest Bronx and May 17th and 18th at the Adams Playhouse at Hofstra University on Long Island.
We also would like to inform you of our upcoming New York premiere production of Kirke Mechem’s THE RIVALS. This rollicking comedy will be presented in four performances: Saturday and Sunday, January 11th and 12th (at 7:30 pm and 2:00 pm respectively) at the Lovinger Theater at Lehman College; the production will then move to the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College for performances on January 18th and 19th at the same times.
