Friday Morning Music Club Chorale - Washington, DC

The Friday Morning Music Club Chorale is seeking a director for the 2013-2014 season and beyond.

FMMC, formed in 1886, is the oldest musical organization in the Washington, DC area, and presents concerts that are free and open to the public. The Chorale, in various forms, has been part of the Club almost since the beginning. It has its own orchestra, with many members drawn from Avanti, the Club's main orchestra.

Chorale membership has declined over the past few years, and it is taking a sabbatical to decide how to rebuild. The new director will play a key role in that rebuilding, deciding on the type of music to perform, attracting new singers, and inspiring them and the orchestra players to perform at their best. The Chorale has sung many choral favorites and also some rarely heard pieces. It is open to new directions that may attract singers and audiences.

Please send your application to the FMMC Director Search committee at peterbaum@cox.net. Prospective directors need to respond by November 15, 2013. Please forward this information to anyone else who might be interested. For additional information relating to the position, please see fmmc-chorale-director.weebly.com/index.html.

Compensation: Paid
