At Willow Lawn, upstairs lobby stage

Monday, September 9, and Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
Director seeks one woman and two men age 55 and older.
No appointment is required.

Auditionees will read from the script. All performers paid.
Bring a photo and recent resume if possible.

There are four performances at The Theatre at Willow Lawn, two daytime
and two evening, followed by 16 touring dates to local senior communities.
Most performances and all rehearsals are in the daytime.

To be performed and toured: October 28 - November 19, 2013.

Rehearsals will begin on or around: November 4, 2013

Performance Dates: November 29 – December 29, 2013 (Detailed performance schedule available by contacting casting@va-rep.org)

Adult auditions will be held Tuesday, September 24 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, and will be held at Virginia Rep’s Willow Lawn location, 1601 Willow Lawn Dr., Richmond, VA 23230. Adult auditions are by appointment only.

Those auditioning are asked to prepare 16 bars of a song. Please bring sheet music in the appropriate key. An accompanist will be provided.

ELIZA MOORE
The wife of Clement C. Moore

DIANA MOUSE/ENSEMBLE
A “Diana Ross-like” vision that comes to Clement C. Moore as he writes his famous poem “The Night Before Christmas”

KRIS KRINGLE
The jolly workman who comes in to Clement C. Moore’s life and changes the course of the famous poem “The Night Before Christmas”

Adult auditions will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm, and Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, and will be held at Virginia Rep’s Willow Lawn location, 1601 Willow Lawn Dr., Richmond, VA 23230
Adult auditions are by appointment only .

Those auditioning are asked to prepare 16 bars of an up-beat song. Please bring sheet music in the appropriate key. An accompanist will be provided.

Casting the following roles*:

DONKEY
A talking donkey who joins Shrek on the run from Farquaad's guards. Quite the chatterbox, he is not deterred by Shrek's looks and practically forces himself into his good graces. Easily frightened and pushy, but also an optimist with heart.

Range: C3 - B4

LORD FARQUAAD
The comically short, ruthless ruler of Duloc. He is in search of a princess to marry so that he can become king. He has an intensely unfair bias against fairytale creatures that stems from a resentment of his father. Self-absorbed, lonely, and cruel.

Range: B2 - D5

PINOCCHIO
The leader of the fairytale creatures. He is an animated puppet whose nose grows every time he lies. Plenty of sass with a penchant for lying.

Range: E3 - F#4

ENSEMBLE
Fairytale creatures, citizens of Duloc, three blind mice, dragon, etc. These men and women portray multiple roles throughout the show, and must possess strong singing and dancing skills (tap experience beneficial).
