Rock of Ages - 2014 National Tour / Phoenix Entertainment



Phoenix Entertainment/Bourbon Room Rocks, LLC. is casting for the 2014 non equity National Tour. Kristin Hanggi, director; Kelly Devine, choreographer; Ethan Popp, Music Supervision; Chris D’Arienzo, book; Journey, Styx, Twisted Sister, Foreigner, etc…music & lyrics; Stephen B. Seeking:
DENNIS DUPREE: Classic stoner type guy who runs the famous Bourbon Room club. Torn about whether he should sell the club to Hertz, a German businessman. Strong comedic timing. A laid back, easy going dude. Bari-tenor rock vocals;

STACEE JAXX: A sexy rock star. Decided to leave his successful hair/metal-rock band to try it solo. Self important, confident intriguing in all the wrong ways, the ultimate bad boy; he is all about sex, drugs and rock-n-roll. Good body, strong comedic timing and strong rock tenor voice;

HERTZ KLINEMANN: an older German male. Uptight, cold, intimidating businessman trying to buy up the Strip to develop it. The bad guy of the piece, baritone vocals;

JOEY PRIMO: a young male with the rocker sensibility, strong rock tenor and strong dance/movement ability, possible US for Drew/Stacee;

DREW: an appealing, good-guy rocker with great, easy comedic timing, a boyish charm, vulnerability and a very strong rock tenor voice. Drew works at the legendary Bourbon Room hoping and waiting for his dreams to come true. He finds an instant attraction to Sherrie, the beautiful new arrival from the Midwest, who encourages him to go after his dreams;

WAITRESS #1 and FEMALE ENSEMBLE: sexy female singer/dancers, sassy, in shape, beautiful. Must be comfortable in very skimpy/sexy clothing. Strong dance, and vocals. Will US principal roles so must be able to sing for Sherrie, Justice or Regina. Must attend the dance call;

MALE ENSEMBLE: strong triple threat performers with a rock sensibility who will need to understudy a few leading roles.

Union Information: non equity

Salary: competitive package

Audition Information

When:
Monday, September 30th.
10am: Waitress #1 and Female Ensemble dance call
11:30am: Open call for male performers

Where:
Chelsea Studios, 151 W 26th Street, between 6th and 7th Ave. Check lobby call board for holding room location.

Notes/What to bring:
Looking for fresh, appealing, energetic performers with a rock & roll sensibility, fun personality, strong singing voices and strong dance/movement ability. All ethnicities are encouraged to attend. Bring picture/resume stapled together and sheet music with your best 16 bars in the style of the show and in the correct key. You may be asked to dance/move later that day.
