All High School Students are Invited to Audition to be a Guest Soloist with the MSO at the annual “Salute to Independence” Concert on April 19, 2013
Age Limit: 18. All entrants must be in grades 9-12.
Application Deadline: Received By Mon Apr 08, 2013.
Materials Required: Complete the online form. Audition recording is also required.

Audition Requirements:
Selection should be no longer than 3 minutes and either of the Broadway show tune, pop standard or classical genre. No top 40.
Finalists will perform with piano accompaniment (provided by the MSO) and must provide their own music, no lead sheets. Each finalist will be assigned a 10 minute time slot to rehearse with the pianist on the day of the final audition.
Winner will be announced at the Masterworks 5 “Orchestral Dances” concert on Saturday April 20 8:00pm. All finalists will receive two complimentary tickets to the concert.
Finalists will be notified on Thursday, April 11th, 2013.
Final auditions will be held on Friday, April 19th , at 7:30 pm in the Maryland Theatre before a live audience and panel of judges
