Breakdown/Description:
Kensington Arts Theatre is seeking headshot and resume submissions for the upcoming production of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE. Please note that this is not an open call, but a call for submission of materials. KAT is currently seeking actresses for the role of DOT.


Rehearsals begin November 19 and run through early February 2012 (exact dates TBD). Rehearsals will take place on weeknights and occasional Saturdays or Sundays. All rehearsals and performances are located in Kensington, MD.


The show will perform at the Kensington Town Center running February 10 - March 3, 2012 on Friday & Saturday nights at 8pm and Sunday matinees at 3pm.


Once your material is received, you will receive an invitation to audition if selected. You will need to prepare a contemporary musical theatre song. Upon confirmation of a time slot, sides will be sent.
ABOUT THE SHOW:


In nineteenth-century France, Georges struggles with his art and his personal life. As George is completely engrossed in his artwork and not with his pregnant girlfriend, Dot, she leaves him to find a more supportive man. Meanwhile, Georges continues on with life, repainting anything he finds unpleasant. In Act Two, the musical takes places in America in 1984. Now, Georges' great-grandson, George, is struggling to find inspiration in his artwork. He is helped when the spirit of Dot returns with some wise words.
