New York Lyric Opera Theatre is holding auditions for its 2009/10 season of concert opera and semi-staged performances (with piano) at Symphony Space.
2010/2011 season:
Don Giovanni, Die Zauberflöte, L'Elisir d'Amore, Rigoletto, Le Nozze di Figaro, Die Fledermaus, Hansel and Gretel, Cendrillon, & I Capuleti e i Montecchi.
All roles open. Double cast.
Also hearing singers for the Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program. Selected AIRs will perform scenes from the opera and/or will participate in nine hours of master classes culminating in a concert at Symphony Space.
Auditions will take place mid-May through mid-June. Please send photo, resume, and bio (with contact information) along with the nonrefundable audition fee of $35.00 to NYLOT, PO Box 237027, NY, NY 10023. Please make checks payable to: New York Lyric Opera Theatre. Please prepare at least three arias (one in the language of the opera for which you are auditioning). Accompanist will be provided.
